  Do You Think It’s Time For Businesses To Reopen Even Though Coronavirus Is Not Obliterated?

  Hi Min,

  Are you asking for just the U. S., or the world in general?

  Here in Australia we went hard and early with social restrictions and are on the verge of eradication, although I hate using that term because it could turn around fast if things go wrong.

  Restaurants were still allowed to serve take out but no club's, bars or big gatherings. We can still go for a walk and shop for groceries but still maintain distancing while doing these activities. A lot of people are working from home.

  I know the economic figures are going to be bad, but the economy is still functioning to an extent, also, the government has offered various generous stimulus packages.

  There seems to be early evidence that there may be no immunity to the virus and it would be be surprising if a vaccine is developed any time soon, if at all. I would think that unless the country you live in has the virus contained, it's a massive risk to get back to business as usual too early.

  Another concern is, who will want to visit a country that has persistent covid19?

  with this pandemic upon us now in full bloom, its not surprising that religions are trying to entice their flocks back, with ' we told you so' rhetoric.

  the truth is, these events happen every so often and we should expect them.. another term for this unpredictable certainty is a black swan event, that is, a rare event, that has wide ranging, often devastating effects.

  we know bad things will happen, sometimes very bad things but we just don't know what, how or when.

  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  Im watching stuff on the tv that is hard to believe.

  People in the USA protesting nurses because they are for quarantine, calling them fake actors, fake nurses, etc??!! Gathering in groups to protest this stuff. Claiming their rights shouldn't be affected by covid-19.

  It must take a special kind of stupid to behave like that.

For example, if you live an average life, you can expect to live through 2 economic recessions and 1 depression.

  Every generation is unique in its own way, but has to deal with much the same problems.

  Im not calling anyone a 'conspiracy theorist'. Please read my post again. It is plausible that the virus could have been:

  A. Deliberately made and mishandled or,

  B. Naturally made, examined in a lab and mishandled.

  C: Naturally made and spread socially.

  My point is that this isn't the first time deadly viruses have arisen throughout history, they do it on their own and they don't need human help, except to spread.

  Do You Feel Your Rights Are Being Trampled On By Government Regarding Coronavirus?

  i support local and state and federal government’s power to safeguard the public.

  i wonder is it getting to a point where we will be told we can’t go out anymore, can’t use your phone or computer anymore because of the viruses that we can get, etc.

  are we prolonging this virus at all ?

  Stupid, selfish people will always make life harder for people who are trying to do the right thing.

  If we cant find a vaccine, then, apart from treatment, the next best thing is to eradicate the virus by way of no new cases occurring, anywhere.

  Sadly, the only way to achieve this is to lock down movement and interaction. If people decide to ignore medical advice, then the virus will keep spreading, forcing authorities into stricter control. There is no easy way out.

  Unlike myself, my wife hasn't been keeping up with anything in JW land. Because of growing up as a female JW, she has seen her share of creepy brothers, so she isn't surprised by what goes on, but she was outraged about how much the org fights to cover its a$$.
